These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase of tickets for, and attendance at, any event organised by Tangent Events (“Tangent Events Management”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By purchasing a ticket or attending one of our events, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Ticket Purchases and Eligibility
1.1 Tickets for Tangent Events may only be purchased by individuals aged 18 years or over.
1.2 By purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and are authorised to enter into a legally binding agreement.
1.3 Tickets may not be resold, transferred for profit, or used for promotional or commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
2. Age Verification and Admission
2.1 All attendees must be aged 18 years or over.
2.2 Valid photographic identification may be required upon entry. Accepted forms of identification include a valid passport, driving licence, or other government-issued photo ID.
2.3 If an attendee is unable to provide satisfactory proof of age when requested, Tangent Events reserves the right to refuse admission.
2.4 Any attendee refused entry due to failure to provide valid identification will not be entitled to a refund or compensation.
3. Ticket Transfers
3.1 If you are no longer able to attend an event and wish to transfer your ticket to another person, you must notify us by email at info@wearetangent.co.uk no later than ten (10) days before the event date.
3.2 We cannot guarantee that transfer requests submitted after this deadline will be processed.
3.3 The new attendee must meet all eligibility requirements applicable to the event, including age restrictions.
4. Cancellations and Refunds by Attendees
4.1 If you are unable to attend an event, you may request a refund by contacting info@wearetangent.co.uk at least 48 hours before the event takes place.
4.2 Approved refunds will be issued for the full ticket value less any transaction, booking, payment processing, or platform fees incurred.
4.3 Refunds will normally be processed within ten (10) working days of approval, and can take up to 7 (7) working days to appear back on your credit/debit card.
4.4 Refunds may only be issued to the original purchaser and to the original payment method where possible.
5. Speaker, Host or Guest Cancellations
5.1 Where a featured guest cancels their appearance for any reason, ticket holders will be entitled to receive a refund of the ticket price paid, less any transaction or payment processing fees.
5.2 Refunds under this section will normally be processed within ten (10) working days following the date cancellation was announced.
6. Event Cancellation by Tangent Events
6.1 Tangent Events reserves the right to cancel, postpone, relocate, or substantially alter any event where circumstances require.
6.2 If we cancel an event, ticket holders will be entitled to a refund of the ticket value less any transaction, booking, payment processing, or platform fees incurred.
6.3 Refunds will normally be processed within ten (10) working days of the scheduled event date.
6.4 Tangent Events shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred by attendees, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, subsistence, or other associated expenses.
7. Wristbands and Re-Entry
7.1 Upon arrival and successful registration, tickets will be exchanged for event wristbands
7.2 Wristbands must be worn as directed throughout the event.
7.3 Attendees may leave and re-enter designated event areas where permitted by the venue or event format.
7.4 To gain re-entry, attendees must present their wristband or other approved accreditation.
7.5 Lost, damaged, removed, or shared wristbands may result in refusal of re-entry.
8. Attendee Conduct
8.1 Tangent Events is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all attendees.
8.2 Attendees must behave in a manner that does not endanger, intimidate, harass, disrupt, or adversely affect other attendees, speakers, venue staff, or event personnel.
8.3 Attendees are not permitted to bring illegal drugs or alcohol in to an event, and any attendee found in possession or under the influence will be removed immediately and will not be entitled to a refund.
8.4 We reserve the right to refuse admission or remove any attendee whose behaviour is considered inappropriate, unsafe, unlawful, disruptive, or inconsistent with the spirit of the event.
8.5 No refund will be provided to any attendee removed from an event for misconduct.
9. Health and Safety
9.1 All attendees must comply with venue regulations, health and safety requirements, and any reasonable instructions issued by event staff.
9.2 Attendees participate at their own risk and are responsible for managing their own health, wellbeing, and personal belongings during the event.
9.3 Any accidents, incidents, hazards, or concerns should be reported to a member of the Tangent Events team as soon as possible.
10. Photography, Filming and Media
10.1 Photography may take place during our events.
10.2 No filming is permitted by attendees during our events. Occasionally, Tangent Event Management staff may take short video clips of the event for marketing purposes.
10.3 By attending a Tangent Events event, you acknowledge that your image, likeness, or appearance may be captured and used for legitimate promotional, marketing, editorial, documentary, or archival purposes.
10.4 If you have concerns regarding photography, please speak to a member of the event team before or during the event and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests where practicable.
11. Personal Property
11.1 Attendees are responsible for their own belongings at all times.
11.2 Tangent Events accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property unless caused directly by our negligence.
12. Accessibility
12.1 We are committed to making our events as accessible as reasonably possible.
12.2 Attendees requiring adjustments or assistance are encouraged to contact us in advance at info@wearetangent.co.uk so that we can discuss requirements and make appropriate arrangements where feasible.
13. Force Majeure
13.1 Tangent Events shall not be liable for any delay, alteration, interruption, postponement, or cancellation arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
13.2 Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to, severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, government restrictions, industrial disputes, transportation disruptions, venue issues, utility failures, security incidents, or acts of terrorism.
14. Data Protection and Privacy
14.1 Personal information provided during the ticket purchasing process will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
14.2 Information collected may be used for event administration, customer service, ticketing, communications relating to the event, and other legitimate business purposes.
14.3 We will not sell your personal information to third parties.
15. Feedback and Communication
15.1 We welcome feedback from attendees and are committed to continuously improving our events.
15.2 Questions, concerns, suggestions, or feedback may be submitted at any time by emailing info@wearetangent.co.uk.
15.3 We review feedback in good faith and value constructive input from our community.
16. Public Commentary
16.1 Tangent Events recognises and respects the right of attendees to express opinions regarding our events, services, and business practices.
16.2 Individuals will not be refused access to future events solely because they have publicly expressed criticism, disagreement, or dissatisfaction with Tangent Events.
16.3 Nothing in this clause limits our right to take action where conduct is abusive, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, unlawful, or otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions.
17. Limitation of Liability
17.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.
17.2 Subject to clause 17.1, Tangent Events’ total liability arising out of or in connection with an event shall not exceed the amount paid by the attendee for the relevant ticket.
18. Changes to These Terms
18.1 Tangent Events reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions whenever the company sees fit.
18.2 The version in force at the time of ticket purchase shall apply to that purchase unless changes are required by law.
